Brian Teeder

Brian TeederBrian started flying in 1966 with the Air Training Corps, gaining his gliding wings in 1968 followed by a PPL(A) through an RAF Flying Scholarship in 1970. He moved on to helicopters in 1976 following succesful selection for the Bristow Helicopters Ab-Initio training scheme.
He worked with Bristow for 13 years, flying the S61N, AS332L, S76A, Bell 212, Bell 206 and Bell 47G2/G4 in various roles, including 3 years as a CPL(H) instructor at the Redhill Training School on Bell 47/206, and a year in Trinidad as the Bell 212 Training Captain.
In 1988 he joined Shell as a pilot and Training Captain on its S61N operation in Brunei, moving on to Gabon in 1992 as the Head of Aircraft Services managing 2 airfields, their associated infrastructure and contracted fixed-wing and helicopter operations.
In October 1995 he moved to Shell's London office as an Aviation Adviser, moving up to the Senior Adviser role in 2001. During this time he was an active member of various committees, including the UKOOA Aviation sub-committee, HESG (Helicopter Emergency Survival Group) and the OIAC Helicopter Liaison Group. He also represented Shell on the team that developed and implemented Helicopter Flight Data Monitoring (HOMP) in the UK North Sea.
Initially responsible for the management of the shell Aircraft audit programme, he developed and implemented a number of IT tools to improve the management of the audit process and also introduced and managed the airline risk comparison model still in use by the Shell Group. He subsequently held responsiblity for the development and implementation of the Group standards.
During his time with Shell, Brian gained extensive auditing experience, performing more than 250 audits in 44 countries around the world. He has also undertaken comprehensive and diverse training in support of his various roles.
As Shell Aircraft completed its move to Rotterdam in Sept '08, Brian left to set up his own consultancy service.
Brian has held the post of Compliance and Safety Manager for Executive Jet Charter Ltd, Farnborough, since March 2009.
